Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain will leave the club when his contract expires, on 30 June 2010, and most likely join an English Premier League club after that (read more here).People from the entourage of the former Barcelona player would have confirmed to the paper that Begiristain has already made the decision to look for a new challenge, independent of the result of the upcoming elections.
Even if current Barcelona vice-president Alfons Godall would be elected as president next year and offer Begiristain a new contract with a serious pay-rise, the Basque wouldn't consider to renew his contract at Barcelona.
